After once again reading the tales of woe regarding Plesk updates, and of course seeing zero response from SWsoft, I thought I would start this thread to get some opinions on current Plesk users about possibly starting an 'Unofficial' Plesk support site.
If anyone actually knows of a good one out there, by all means, let me know...
That being said, what would you, the current Plesk visitors/users, think about contributing to an independant site offering a community-driven support mechanism? I'm thinking initially of a set of forums that everyone could participate on, to share knowledge and the like, and then possibly migrating the best information into a database of sorts that people could search through to find solutions for common Plesk issues.
My reasoning for this is that for all the money you know Plesk has made from its customers over the years, it sure would be nice to see some decent support for poorly-tested releases, shoddy patches, and documentation that is frankly very lacking for a product of this nature. I've been using Plesk for over 5 years myself, and I'm constantly surprised at the horrific level of support that's given.
Anyway, if this sounds good to you, and you would be willing to contribute, let me know! If you've got any ideas to add to my 'manifesto', please feel free to post them.
In this day and age, there's no reason why we couldn't start consolidating the information floating around out there into a central location that the actual users of this product could benefit from.
