Just to make sure: You are running onyx on jessie, right? Do you even have PHP7.2 now?

Hello,

I've been having the exact same problem for the past few days in plesk obsidian with debian 8. I thought it would resolve itself with the 404 url fix, but it still does.

Thanks and regards! Eva

Debian LTS support for Debian 8 "Jessie" ended on June 30, 2020. For that reason you may not be able to access these repositories any longer.

I think the correct solution would be to upgrade to Debian 9, but I DO NOT KNOW if an in-place upgrade is supported by Plesk, because Debian is not our OS here, so that I do not have the in-depth knowledge in the interaction on in-place upgrades with Plesk for Debian.

For the Debian upgrade path, you can consult LTS/Using - Debian Wiki

But again, also research online how Plesk interacts with such an upgrade and if that is a recommended path.

Hello,

Thanks Peter for your reply. Is there any other method to avoid the error? Like change the repos or something like that? I am running a Debian 8 server with sites with php 5 and update to debian 9 is not an option now.

Hello,
After trying to update according to what is indicated in:
How to perform dist-upgrade procedure on Linux server with Plesk?

After changing the repositories I still try to update the old repositories

with these messages:
W: Failed to fetch http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PHP72_17/dists/jessie/all/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found
W: Failed to fetch http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PHP72_17/dists/jessie/all/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

From command
/opt/psa/bin/distupgrade.helper.deb8-deb9_pre.x64.sh
and also from
apt-get update

Before and after modifying /etc/apt/sources.list

I don't understand why those errors keep getting after updating /etc/apt/sources.list to:

deb Index of /debian stretch main contrib non-free
deb-src Index of /debian stretch main contrib non-free

deb Debian -- Security Information stretch/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src Debian -- Security Information stretch/updates main contrib non-free

I am interested in safely upgrading to Debian 9

Thank you

OS: Debian 8.11
Product: Plesk Obsidian 18.0.28 Update # 3

After trying to update according to what is indicated in:

After changing the repositories I still try to update the old repositories

I don't understand why those errors keep getting after updating /etc/apt/sources.list to:

Because these are one directory deeper in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/plesk.list and the August 16 version of the distupgrade helper script claims it updated all entries to stretch but didn't. (it did, but they got mangled because I removed plesk components through the webinterface, which also messes with the sources.list[.d] files, just before starting the distupgrade process. Don't do that. Or wait half an hour before the distupgrade.) All the other files are updated fine, though.
(Also, if you have deb http://autoinstall.plesk.com/debian/PSA_17.8.11 jessie all in there, change it to stretch all)

Caution, if you have php7.0.33 dotdeb packages on your system, you must remove or comment out the dotdeb file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d and apt-get remove php7.0-common after running the pre script, because otherwise apt thinks the dotdeb-debian8 files are newer than the debian9 ones and refuses to update them, resulting in dependencies breaking all over the place.

Thanks mow for your reply

I have these lists inside the directory:

/etc/apt/sources.list.d# ls
kcare.list plesk-ext-grafana.list plesk.list
plesk-ext-docker.list plesk-ext-nodejs.list plesk-migrator.list

/etc/apt/sources.list.d# cat plesk.list

With changing Jessie for Stretch in all would it be enough?

Thanks for the help

HI folks,
Same problem here for 4 servers.
Would it be safe to perform an upgrade from Debian 8 to Debian 9 without changing any files inside /etc/apt/sources.list.d folder ?
We are following the steps indicated in this URL --> How to perform dist-upgrade procedure on Linux server with Plesk?

Running pre_script --> ./distupgrade.helper.deb8-deb9_pre.x64.sh, appears this information
