• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Upgrade 6.5 to 7.5

Hi - I'm looking to transfer all accounts and domains from a server running Plesk 6.5 to a new server running Plesk 7.5.

I guess the first question is whether this is possible or not?

Then if you could recommend the best way of going about this.

(Can it be automated using the backup utility or would it have to be manually moved?)

The 7.5 box will be a clean installation. I will need to keep the same IP addresses, but could the domains be transferred and tested before IPs are switched over?

Thanks, Chris.

I would advise just having SW-Soft do it. The rates are affordable and if something goes wrong you have a direct teck working on the situation.

thanks Renhack,

I'd really like to get someone to tell me whether this is possible. Otherwise it is tempting to stick with 6.5 until we outgrow the server.

Or my other alternative is to manually transfer all domains between two seperate servers, but that could be quite a painful / time consuming process.

Has anyone successfully transfered accounts/domains between 6.5 and 7.5?

thanks again, chris.
