Upgrade 7.5.4 to 8.3.0 failed

Hi.

Just got a brand new server. Then I in the PLESK panel tried to update it from 7.5.4 to 8.3.0.

I should never have done that. After applying different suggestions the best i can get is this on my server:

Starting postgresql service... not installed

I run SuSE 9.3

Got fixed by my datacenter. What was wrong I never found out.
