Upgrade from 8.6 to 10.x

Hi I'm currently running the last 8.6 Plesk on CentOS 5.7, and consider upgrading it.

What is the best practice? Can I upgrade directly from 8.6 to 10.3 skipping the 9.x series or should I upgrade to 9.5.4 first?
If you did that already, what are your experiences, what should I take care of?
