• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

As per detailed instructions by hosting provider I upgraded to PHP 5.1.2 from PHP4.
Unfortunately I realised that I require 5.2.x to run Magento Ecommerce.

I am a total beginner and after extensive searching haven't found detailed instructions. There is mention on 'apt get' and 'yum' but no idea what these are.

(i have been glued to the pc for the last 16 hours and been going round in circles!)

Could anyone provide me with either a link to a resource or help me out with this problem please?

thanks in advance.

(PM me if you think you could do this for me.)

bump -

I have exactly the same issue - I have Plesk 8.6 with php 5.1.2 and I need 5.2.x for magento - Can anyone tell me how I might upgrade PHP?

not for me though - I have discovered that it was the version of ubuntu (6) that won't support php 5.2.x

Thanks for the reply though.
