Basic Pleskian
I'm starting a new thread because I realize I was posting in one technically marked as resolved.
I upgraded to Plesk Onyx yesterday - everything went smoothly, so it seemed. The system automatically updated this morning and restarted, apparently, because when I got into the office I realized the websites on our server are now inaccessible. I traced the error with the help of Igor down to what seems to be a DNS error, but when I run plesk repair dns I get the following error:
Restore the DNS configuration file from '/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf.default'? [Y/n] Y
Restoring the DNS configuration file
'/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf' .............................. [2018-08-01 10:21:37.973] ERR [util_exec] proc_close() failed ['/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/filemng' 'root' 'cp' '-r' '/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf.default' '/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf' '--allow-root'] with exit code [1]
[FAILED]
- filemng failed: filemng: Error occurred during /bin/cp command.
And I know why it fails - there is no /var/named/chroot folder. In fact, upon more investigation, there is no /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/named-chroot.service and no named-chroot.service at all in /user/lib/systemd/system. There is a named.service file in that folder.
In any case, I'm not sure what the next step should be, and I'm really confused as to what happened to cause this error. Given my lack of server admin knowledge and ability, I promise you I never modified anything in the named.conf file or anything related. I have no clue how to resolve this issue to make our websites (or the Plesk panel) accessible again. Please help!
