Upgrading MySQL 5.1 to 5.5 pn Plesk 11.5 on RHEL/CentOS 6.x

New Pleskian
The release notes for 11.5 suggest support for MySQL 5.5, but apparently only for RHEL/CentOS 5.x (and CloudLinux) which is frustrating: http://download1.parallels.com/Ples...inistrator-guide/index.htm?fileName=59427.htm

Can this be done manually on RHEL/CentOS 6.x?

One source suggests ATOMIC CORP or puling straight from the ORACLE repository: http://serverkb.co.uk/wiki/Plesk#MySQL_Version_5.5_on_CentOS_6

I was dissuaded by the zero warranty that comes with ATOMIC CORP, otherwise sounds tempting.

While we as atomicorp the company do not support mysql as a product (yet anyway), we do have very active forums for the project as well as Mariadb. Also we use Plesk, and Centos 6 just like you do, so if you are running into a problem its going to be something we would probably run into as well.
