• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Upgrading to a new Linux Distribution

Good Evening,

I have a question about upgrading a server. I currently have a server that is a few years old. It is loaded with Redhat 9 and Plesk 7.5.4. I understand that Plesk will be retiring Redhat 9 support very soon. I have purchased a second server and want to install Redhat Enterprise 4. Are there any proper steps to take besides following the guide. I am under the assumption to build a new Plesk 7.5.4 server on the RH Enterprise box and use the backup and restore tools?

What about IP addresses? How do I use the same IP addresses from the old server? I want to make this as seamless as possible with the least possible downtime.

I know two servers can't share IP addresses, but maybe I can switch them temporarily so they don't conflict.

Anyone does this before?

I appreciate the help.
