uploading logo problem

I know there have been alot of issues with the banner uploading messing up the template. I was wondering about the logo upload. It adds alot of free space to my template when I upload my own logo, when I do the default logo it shows up find. Is this because of the latest hotfix?

As I have understood your request is related to the following article:

Document size (not image size) will determine how much space logo will take up on template. Try something like 15x3 inches, make sure logo is positioned properly inside doc window (all way to left or right depending on template). Hope that helps.
