TITLE:
URGENT - Plesk-base package missing after update #52
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Plesk version 17.5.3
Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Automatic updating of Plesk did not work on most of my servers.

I had to apply manual updates for Plesk versions 17.0.17, 17.5.3 and 17.8.11 to get to the versions as indicated in the release notes.

All updates were applied properly, with the exception of Plesk 17.5.3 instances.

Missing: plesk-base_17.5.3-ubuntu16.04.build1705170317.16_amd64.deb

The package is not installed at all.

Associated problems with

- plesk repair utility
- WPT
- various extensions
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Just try to install the micro-update #52 manually on a Plesk 17.5.3 instance.
ACTUAL RESULT:
Package plesk-base_17.5.3-ubuntu16.04.build1705170317.16_amd64.deb is not installed.

Check /var/cache/apt/archives
EXPECTED RESULT:
Package plesk-base_17.5.3-ubuntu16.04.build1705170317.16_amd64.deb should be installed.
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I will try to conform the (potential) bug by upgrading another 17.5.3 instance, currently at #51
YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PLESK SERVICE TEAM:
Confirm bug

@IgorG,

I have attached multiple log files in a zip file.

Moreover, note the following:

- the dpkg -l | grep plesk-base and dpkg-query -l plesk-base indicate a proper installation, just as you indicated
- the command cat /etc/hosts | grep autoinstall does not result in anything (this should not be a problem though)
- the command ls -l /var/cache/apt/archives | grep plesk-base resulted in nothing (this is the result from the past)

Also note that I have installed the package in the meantime, so I am ready for a reinstall, but I will wait with that until you get more information about this potential bug.

Regards........

From developers:

Cannot reproduce, log does not contain any strange lines.

I know, that is the big mystery.

To be honest, I have not been able to reproduce it either on an identical machine (read: identical setup and identical chronological order of updates/commands).

It might be a mirror related issue, but that would have been a very short one........and a whole lot of bad luck that it coincided with the Plesk update on the machine.

It is odd that the Plesk base package had gone missing, but that is not really a problem that cannot be solved.

Let's close this one, shall we?

Regards........
