Use of other mailserver

Hello,

We have a customer that uses his own mailserver so the A record points to another server then the MX record.

The problem is that if you send an e-mail with the mailserver, the server thinks he has to deliver the e-mail to itself because the domain name is registered in Plesk.

The customer has an own mailserver so the MX record points to another server, but Plesk only looks if he knows the domain and doesn't check if the MX record point to another mailserver.

When e-mail is being send, it is not delivered at the other mailserver.

Is there a way to change this ? I have already changed the MX record in Plesk and deleted all MX records but Plesk still doesn't deliver the e-mail.

If you disable all mail for that domain, the server does not deliver the mail locally anymore.
You can do this by selecting the desired domain in the domain list, go to 'Mail' and click on 'Enable/Disable'

Thank you for your reply. I have tried this and now e-mail that I send with Outlook using the mailserver is delivered. E-mail that the php script sends using the mailserver is not begin delivered. We have send e-mail using the command line and that is being delivered also, so we don't understand why php can't send e-mail.

generally, if domain in Plesk has external mail server, you need to disable mail service on this domain at Domain >> Mail and setup dns settings properly.

as for php scripts ,it should be some other reason.
