Resolved Use Slave DNS Manager extension for more than a server

SalvadorS

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

I use Slave DNS Manager extension without any problem in one server. But if I want to use a slave dns server extension for 2 different plesk servers to work with a slave DNS server I have a problem.

If I edit the file /etc/bind/named.conf.options in the DNS slave server, if I add only one server:

//pleskserver1

key "rndc-key-IP" {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret "xxx";
};

controls {
inet * port 953 allow { IP; 127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key-IP"; };
};

All worked well. But if I add a second server:

//pleskserver1

key "rndc-key-IP" {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret "xxx";
};

controls {
inet * port 953 allow { IP; 127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key-IP"; };
};

//pleskserver2

key "rndc-key-IP" {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret "xxx";
};

controls {
inet * port 953 allow { IP; 127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key-IP"; };
};

For the first one plesk server all worked well but for the second I have this error:

rndc: recv failed: connection reset

So, How i can modify /etc/bind/named.conf.options file to combine multiple plesk servers in the DNS slave server?

If anyone use the Slave DNS manager extension in more than one plesk server to have one slave DNS server for all the servers please let me know how can I configure this.

Thank you in advance

Hi Salvador,

This is where you may have the issue

controls {
inet * port 953 allow { IP; 127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key-IP"; };
};

You should have only one entry in the conf file that covers both plesk servers like so.

controls

{inet * port 953 allow { server1IP; server2IP; 127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key-server1IP"; "rndc-key-server2IP"; };

};
