  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Using Sitebuilder to build pages outside of Sitebuilder???

NeuroPsyche

Regular Pleskian
Did anyone ever want to have Sitebuilder build a web site but then found out that it just can't do enough?

Sitebuilder can only go one layer deep but did anyone ever try to use Sitebuilder to do more? More than it was designed to do?

I was curious about this and haven't tried it yet and wanted to see if anyone else did.
One each page of Sitebuilder there is a <pagefilename>.<ext>.
This is automatically created by Sitebuilder and usually looks like a random number generated with hypens in between each 4 or 5 digits. It looks almost like a Windows key. For example, '18332-3838-2382-4482.aspx'.

If one simply puts in a filename, will that allow a user to create a 'raw' page?

Lets say your 1 layer deep, but want to have more links. Can one simply create a page for the page your already in, by giving Sitebuilder a filename, then creating a hyperlink to that page you created and filename?

So lets say, i'm at:

Main Page
> 1 Layer Deep Page #1<limit of sitebuilder
> 1 Layer Deep Page #2<limit of sitebuilder

... but yet want to create a page that would be accessable though page #2, and create a hyperlink in that page.

Example:

Main Page
> 1 Layer Deep Page #1(sitebuilder filename page #1)
> 1 Layer Deep page #2(sitebuilder filename page #2) w/hyperlink to another page
>>>>> 2nd Layer Deep Page<anotherpagefilename> <<<raw page created by Sitebuilder simply by nameing a file

If anyone ever did this, successfully, can you let me know? And, one more important thing, when backing up
will these pages also be backed up?
