• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Question Watchdog and PHP-FPM

I'd suggest you check watchdog logs

/usr/local/psa/var/modules/watchdog/log/wdcollect.log
/var/log/wdcollect.log
/usr/local/psa/var/modules/watchdog/log/monit.log

for related errors/messages/etc.

The php-fpm Watchdog module is no longer working as its no longer customized to match Plesk’s multi PHP instances/versions.
This is a clear bug/design error.

Only way to fix this is:
1. Goto Watchdog -> PHP-FPM and change start/stop commands:
Start: /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/phpinimng --service-name=plesk-php56-fpm --type fpm --start
Stop: /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/phpinimng --service-name=plesk-php56-fpm --type fpm --start
(this is for PHP 5.6)
2. Edit /usr/local/psa/etc/modules/watchdog/monitrc
and change the line "with pidfile /var/run/php-fpm/php-fpm.pid" to: "with pidfile /run/plesk-php56-fpm.pid"
(again this is for PHP 5.6)
3. Restart monit: service monit restart

Done, monitoring and correct display of status with Plesk will work now. This is just a workaround to get it working, future Plesk updates (and any change to the watchdog settings) will probably overwrite these changes. Plesk team has to fix this to make it permanent.

Any plans from Plesk to fix this? Service monitor/automatic restart is a really important component of a reliable production server and, as we find the recommended PHP-FPM solution to be rather unreliable, it's extra important to have Watchdog taking care of all installed instances of PHP.
