Hi,

I'm a new user of Plesk and I have a question...

I create a new client but this client dont have a domain name...

Wath is the "original path" to access to the website of this client ?

There is not something like : clientname.myserver.com ?

Or maybe we have obligation to have a domain name ?

I hope I'm clear with my bad english ;-)

Thanks a lot,

Olivier.

Webhosting but no domainname?

Weird...

You can create a webuser-account for him on your own domain.
(No need to setup the client BTW).

Or if the client is going to move his domain and wants to move everything to your server, before changing DNS-data. Just create a domain in Plesk for that user. Plesk will tell you that de domain resolves to another address, skip that an just set it up. Your client can upload all files via FTP (just use the IP-address as the server name, use his account data and you'll only access his domain). From within Plesk you can check if the site's working, and if so... Change the DNS setting to access the new server.

Ok, I try the web user system but the problem is :

web user have a limit for storage and the account client too...

There is not possible to join the 2 counts ?

I would like a webuser account with MY domain but with the restrictions of the client account... this is not possible ?

I searsh because on all other providers, if i take an account without domain, i have an adress like : myname.provider.com

Do you understand wath i want ?

;-)

I've looked around, but I don't think that that is possible.
You can setup the "hard disk quota", this will limit the webspace he/she can use.
That's about it that Plesk allows you to controll.

I personally would register a domainname for the client.
It has soooooo many pro's.
- A unique webaddress (domain.tld)
- Unique emailaddresses ([email protected])
- His/her own statistics (prefer AWStats)
- Unique subdomains
- Unique databases
- etc. etc.

Hello,

here is an idea, but it needs scripting.

Use Event manager and bind to Client Account Created.

You can transmit the client name as parameter to a script that uses that to set up a subdomain as a domain using your domain name..

You need to dig a bit arround plesk shell commands and event manager parameters but it is not impossible to do it.

i do not understand the problem here, just create a new domain with the name costumer.provider.com and all is fine ....
