Web Files Stored In Multiple Locations

I am fast running out of disk space on my virtual dedicated server so was looking for things to delete when I noticed my website is stored multiple times in different locations!! This will not do and will have to be stored in one location once!!

I noticed my website is stored at...

C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mywebaddress.com\httpdocs
C:\Inetpub\vhosts\Servers\xxxx\localuser\ftpaccount1\httpdocs
C:\Inetpub\vhosts\Servers\xxxx\localuser\ftpaccount2

1 - Why is this? Is it because when I upload via FTP on the two FTP accounts I have set up, the files are stored in the Servers folder.

2 - Is the website served from C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mywebaddress.com\httpdocs

3 - Can I delete all the files in both of the ftp account folders?

4 - How do I stop this happening in future? Just use the admin account when FTPing to the server so it goes straight into the vhost folder C:\Inetpub\vhosts\mywebaddress.com\httpdocs ?

My site is about 2GB in total so dont need 4GB wasted in those other folders!!

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

just in one location only

Hi,

Your website is just present in one location c:\inetpub

Other directories ie, the ftp directories just act as pointers to the original location which gives
you a feeling that they are stored in multiple locations.

Thanks for the ininformation, prince! I hadn't come across that before!! ;-)
