  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Hello everyone,

I recently updated Plesk using the upgrade manager and since then Webalizer has ceased running.

"/usr/bin/webalizer: error while loading shared libraries: libXpm.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Here's what I've found out so far...

ldd /usr/bin/webalizer returns:

libgd.so.2 => /usr/lib/libgd.so.2 (0x40018000)
libpng12.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 (0x40052000)
libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x40077000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40088000)
libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1 (0x400aa000)
libdb-4.2.so => /lib/libdb-4.2.so (0x400bd000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40190000)
libXpm.so.4 => not found
libX11.so.6 => not found
libjpeg.so.62 => /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62 (0x40296000)
libfreetype.so.6 => /usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6 (0x402b4000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x40319000)

/usr/bin/X11R6 contains three subdirectories, bin, man and share. /bin and /share are empty and /man contains 8 more subdirectories named man1 through man8, all of which are empty.

This is a live VPS with client sites on it.

Question 1: does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can replace the files that went missing after the Plesk update?

Question 2: there seem to be a lot of people having problems after using the upgrade manager in Plesk, is it generally a good idea NOT to use it?

Thanks so much in advance,

~ Sarah ~
