Hi Peter_R,

some basics at first:

The Plesk Control Panel is served over the very own Plesk-webserver ( sw-cp-server ).
Your website(s) are served either over your apache-webserver, or a combination of apache+nginx, depending on your very own settings for your hosting.

Did you notice the sticky thread: [IMPORTANT]: READ THIS FIRST TO FIND QUICK SOLUTION FOR THE EXISTING ISSUE/QUESTION

Please have a look at ( and bookmark?!? ):

Second, please make sure, that your webserver(s) are up und running:
apache webserver:

service httpd status or /etc/init.d/httpd status ( CentOS/RHEL )
service apache2 status or /etc/init.d/apache2 status ( Debian/Ubuntu )

or : apachectl status

... to restart the apache webserver, please use:

service httpd restart or /etc/init.d/httpd restart ( CentOS/RHEL )
service apache2 restart or /etc/init.d/apache2 restart ( Debian/Ubuntu )

nginx webserver:

service nginx status
/etc/init.d/nginx status

... to restart the nginx webserver, please use:
service nginx restart
/etc/init.d/nginx restart

If you experience issues with apache and/or nginx, please have a look at the corresponding log - files of the webservers and be reminded, that there are as well corresponding domain - specific log - files ( locations as described in the mentioned KB - article above ). If you can't solve issues on your own, please consider to post the errors from your logs here in the forum, so that others are able to make some suggestions to your issues, based on your error(s)/issue(s)/problem(s).

It is always wise to include your Plesk version, including the current MU - version. The latest MU - updates are posted as threads in the forum, as for example: Plesk 12.0.18 MU#64 - Are you maybe experiencing a previous described issue(s) from these threads? Are there solutions and work-arounds described in these threads, which you tried and which didn't work for you? Which ones, please? Which errors did you get, when trying the solutions and work-arounds from the mentioned threads?

Another hint for the forum usage: You have the option to use CODE - inserts, so that log - files for example can be viewed better in this forum: WYGIWYS_navigation-bar_insert-Code_001.jpg

as far as the logs there are too many to go through and too much data to analyze it would take a week to go through all of them and best part to try to understand them

Hi Peter_R,

checked NGINX : not working
Code:
# service nginx status
nginx dead but pid file exists
[ ~]# service nginx restart
Not starting nginx as it is disabled in config
[ ~]# /etc/init.d/nginx restart
Not starting nginx as it is disabled in config

You already got the cause here. So now... please find the solution. I previously suggested to have a look at other threads, where you would have noticed, that nginx has to be enabled again.

/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng --enable

...should fix your non-working nginx. If not, please investigate again, why nginx is not running, after re-enabling it. Please leave out investigations for "sw-cp-server", because I explained already, that the Plesk specific webserver has got nothing to do with your apache and nginx webserver for your domains and their websites.

thank you for your reply
strange i did not know the plesk was using nginx for websites because i did not select in configurations. But apparently it uses it because i run your command and it fixed the problem.
also strange that when i run this :

# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/nginxmng -s
Enabled

but when i run this it says it does not work... confusing:

#/etc/init.d/nginx status
nginx dead but pid file exists

but your suggestion
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng --enable
fixed the issue...
i hope permanently.

Thanks For the Hint.
