  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New Pleskian
Hi guys

I've always hosted on shared hosting but recently upgraded to a VPS and am running Plesk 12.0.18 (Update #33).

Previously I had a way of sending a client a link to the site before the DNS and domains propagated.
Usually, this was in the structure of

http://IP-Address/webspacename.tld

Easy peasy!

With Plesk, I am trying to do the same. But when I hit the preview button beside a domain name / web space, I get a very long winded URL which partially works.

https://111.11.0.111:8443/siteprevi.../?randomHash=920f4f9979b1e1697a9d3a97308e4b20

I could probably live with that but all my CSS paths are broken, browsing any links brings up a 404 nginx error etc.

It's not good.

Interestingly, I have a site on the same VPS which works beautifully as the domain propogation has kicked in.
However, and here's the thing, the very site in this URL preview structure has the same issue ... broken CSS files.

So I'm wondering what gives. Is this a problem with my VPS provider or a Plesk oddity?

BTW I know I could setup a cheap temp domain or change my Mac hosts file but I think this is beside the point.

WOuld I be better off switching to Cpanel or a different VPS provider?
