Issue Website's own images are flagged as hotlinked

Hello , I have a wordpress website and I activated hotlink protection however the images on my own website changed into plesk's hotlinked image stub
- I have noticed not all the images changed only the ones used as background images for elementor sections / columns
- The images are my own and I didn't get them from an external source
- I'm also using Smush pro for image compression and CDN , I suspected it was the CDN and after disabling it the images were still marked as hotlinked
anyone experienced this before or knows how I can fix it ?
 
Hotlink protection means that OTHER websites cannot deep-link the images and use them on their sites. This is done by checking the referer of the request. If the referer is not your own website, the images are not delivered. Examples how this looks in Apache and Nginx are shown in https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/...-prevent-hotlinking-graphics-from-the-domain-

When you use a CDN for your files, the users' browser does not load the images from your website, but from that CDN. This is not hotlinking from your site. For that reason the CDN is not causing the issue.

Instead, try to check exactly the domain(s) involved in your configuration. Could it be possible that you are using different domain names for the website? So that the referrer in the log is from a different domain than the website itself?

the hotlink settings have my website's link ( without https:// and www ) and google.com , I can't edit my website's link but I can add more links , however it's the same case for another website I use for testing and the hotlink protection is working fine there , no issues at all
