• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Weird Plesk 10.1.1 Migration Error….

Gene Steinberg

Regular Pleskian
I am attempting to migrate an account from a cPanel 11 server. Supposedly the latest Migration Manager handles this.

The settings are correct insofar as server name (IP), port, username, password, but when I try to move the process forward, it gives me:

Error: launchpad error (Error code = 1):

I cannot find anything in the Knowledge Base about this. What's the problem? What's the solution?

Peace,
Gene

I found the reason. Although there's a place to put an SSH port other than 22, it appears not to be supported. We use a different port number on the source server for security. When we switched it to 22, it could migrate. But the migration process is strewn with errors (which I can't quote here, because it contains usernames and replacement passwords and such). In short, it cannot transfer the databases of a simple WordPress site.

The documentation on this app is extremely poor. The error information is totally uninformative. I've requested help from Parallels, but this can be the deal breaker for me. I shouldn't have to transfer data manually from a supported transfer configuration.

Peace,
Gene
