• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question what does installing Lets Encrypt do 1st?

larryk

Regular Pleskian
If I install Lets Encrypt, from the extension install button, i'm assuming NOTHING happens "after" the install occurs?

.... except installing the program?

Meaning, its very safe to install.
Lets Encrypt does not do, change anything UNTIL you start adding/checking/selecting/creating certs for a domain to use?

is that correct?

Reason I ask, I want to test "things" on a test domain, before I start using it on client sites.

thanks!

PS. I saw other threads talking about using it (lots and lots of info), but is there a simple summary (up-to-date) of "HOW TO USE 'correctly' "? I see various settings, features are changing -- i see something Plesk will change is in the 2nd qtr 2017?

The installation will make a "Let's Encrypt" icon and the functionality available to all subscriptions and domains on the host. You cannot only try it on a single domain.once you install the extension, it can be used by all.
