  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

I am a bit confused

Software Requirements for Plesk

says

Database servers and tools:
...

  • MariaDB 5.5, 10.0, 10.1

How to upgrade MySQL 5.5 to 5.6/5.7 on Linux

says
Add MariaDB repository:

[mariadb10.2]
name = MariaDB
baseurl = Index of /10.2/centos7-amd64/
gpgkey=https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1

Is 10.2 supported or only up to 10.1?
If 10.2 is supported, then please update onyx software page

regards
Jan

looks like it's not, otherwise i guess it would be mentioned. i can tell you that previous versions of plesk did not support mariaDB 10.x versions, but i was still able to install them manually with un-installing current version and then installing the desired version and then reinstalling plesk. but notice such actions removes warranty plesk even though it might work. probably because of unpredicted system stability (which i didn't encountered yet).

looks like it's not, otherwise i guess it would be mentioned.

But it is mentioned, it is supported.

The problem is that the requirement page says upto 10.1 and in the example on the support page 10.2 is installed.
So i was wondering which one is the maximum supported version.

Jan

From the looks of it, MariaDB 10.2 is still in RC stages meaning officially Plesk will not provide support (they only support stable official builds). Can you still install it and configure it as your database server? Sure. Will it work? Probably. Since 10.2 is not officially out as a stable build (and even if it does come out as a stable build tomorrow, it takes the team a month or so to test and make sure that it works with Plesk before they officially say it's supported).

I had accidentally installed 10.2 on a fresh server and initiated a production system on it a month ago. Plesk Onyx 17.5 with MU #10 is currently running 330 domains and 80 subscriptions, and almost all seems to be working so far, but the "repair db" command. That reports minor errors on timestamp fields, specifically on DNS records. Else all seems to be alright. I am thinking about letting it be as it is hoping that a Plesk update to 17.8 or newer versions won't give trouble. The initial installation did work perfectly, and Plesk support did some reconfigurations and a bootstrapper repair on it tonight that worked, too.
