Why is QMail so SLOW!

Hi everyone

First post on here, so I hope someone can assist.

When sending email either from or via my server, it's seems to take approximately 3 minutes to send even the smallest email.

I've looked at various qmail threads but haven't found a suitable solution.

There is no mail in the queue.

I just want to send mail instantly.

Thanks for that Michael.

I'd already studied that post but had a little difficulty understanding it as I'm a total linux novice.

However, I've now managed to edit the file - really pleased with myself, but....

I can still send email from my home PC via smtp.btinternet.com quicker than I can from my server which is only 4 hops away from my intended destination.

Anyone have any further ideas of how I can further speed up sending.
