Why the emails go very slowly

Hello there

I looked for a Thread related to my question or something helpful to resolve the issue below:
The emails sent via distribution list go very slowly to the recipients. Many messages in queue stay many days in the system. Is there a resolution to fix this?
I am using plesk 9.5.4
