• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
    If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

WordPress 3.8 application and fastcgi not working

SherlockH

Basic Pleskian
When installing WordPress 3.8 via application tab with php running in fastcgi mode, plugin / theme installing features do not work. WordPress asks for FTP credentials. The installer adds the following lines to wp-config.php:

if(is_admin()) {
add_filter('filesystem_method', create_function('$a', 'return "direct";' ));
define( 'FS_CHMOD_DIR', 0751 );
}

if(is_admin()) {
add_filter('filesystem_method', create_function('$a', 'return "ftpext";' ));
define( 'FS_CHMOD_DIR', 0755 );
}

If the lines are removed, everything words fine. Is this a bug in the APS package?

Hello,

Try to add following code in your wp-config.php file to install plugin/theme without FTP

Code:
define('FS_METHOD','direct');

Thanks for your reply. The package was updated by now and the line that you suggested was added. Problem solved ...
