Issue Wordpress 404 error Instead of Error 500

Vanilla Installation of wordpress with default .htaccess.

If wordpress can't connect to database It throw up Error 404 Instead of error 500 ( wordpress - Can't connect to database error ).

Where Should I start looking ?

Check the error logs while browsing the site at /var/log/httpd/error_log and it will give you an idea of whats happening.
