Resolved Wordpress installation on subdomain 404 on slugs

Markvdberg0

New Pleskian
Hi! I installed Wordpress through the wordpress toolkit on a subdomain, staging.domain.com.

Now any slugs will result in a 404 page when using an empty .htaccess. When I use the default .htaccess (see below) the slug will open index.php.

If i visit the page by:
/?page_id=13450
the correct page is shown, with both .htaccess files.

The .htaccess:
Code:
# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
# END WordPress

Error found in the apache log:
AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.

Wordpress Toolkit version:
5.5.1-5279

From my understanding there is a error in the apache configuration? Where shoud I look?

Thanks.

Have fixed the issue by enabling the permalinks in the WP administration (settings > permalinks). Didn;t know this settings affect the working of slugs.
