Question Wordpress optimization

Hi there,
i had a wordpress multisite with big data for the database and also a lot of visitor.

My site is going to slow down, i need suggestion.

Upgrade the server for more resource or tweak the mysql server?

If i must tweak, how to tweak the mysql server in plesk for the best performance?
