I am not a Unix man.
In order to generate some images with java, I need to install xorg on a box with fedora 6 and plesk 8.1.
My courageous provider says that it is not supported and that I have no garanties not to break everything.
I find quite surprising that a package (apparently supplied on the machine) can break everything and that it is not advisable to run xwindows with plesk.
I can't find any info on the subject (I looked everywhere I could think of).
    Can anybody help?
    Hubert

You probably dont reall need to install all of X, just some of the support libraries for it. Try this:

    yum groupinstall "X Software Development"

and then just to be safe:

    yum update

All fine now. Some options in Java and a few code modifications made it work.
    Thanks again.
