If you are still using CentOS 7.9, it's time to convert to Alma 8 with the free centos2alma tool by Plesk or Plesk Migrator. Please let us know your experiences or concerns in this thread: CentOS2Alma discussion
I did something similar with a little less overhead:
rm -f `grep -ls 'Gootkit' /var/www/vhosts/*.*/cgi-bin/*.pl`
but essentially it would seem that if you patched Plesk and changed all passwords the hole ought to have been closed.
Same problem here on two different Plesk 9.5.4 servers that we haven't yet converted to Cpanel. Both are updated with the latest micro patches last week.
The vulnerability checker says:
# php -d safe_mode=0 plesk_remote_vulnerability_checker.php
The patch has been successfully applied...
Well I'm unsubscribing from this thread. We no longer have any Plesk 10 servers, they have all been migrated to Cpanel due to lack of migration path back to a working version of Plesk. Needless to say remaining and new servers will probably go the same way.
I just learned that cpanel offers migration of Plesk 10 to cpanel since April. Even another developer can find out how to make a working migration tool. We'll just have to go that route since Parallels obviously are not going to deliver a migration tool away from Plesk 10.
Absolutely agree! And this is not the only problem, Plesk 10 is riddled with such gotcha's! It is for example also not possible to create a new customer under a reseller from the admin panel - you have to explicitly log out as admin and login as the reseller to get this option. Pathetic.
We...
I already explained, nobody use all that business logic bloatware. All we need is websites and email.
Never mind. I will migrate the websites by hand. It will take a few hours but at the end of the day be well worth the time spent.
Well, you don't always find the problems right away. By the time we realized the mistake it was too much work going back to an old backup.
Recognizing the poor state of Plesk 10 it would have been nice if you provided a migration tool that would work the other way. As long as none of the...
I'm not sure if I understand you correct. Are you saying that it's possible to make a full plesk backup under Plesk 10 and restore it under Plesk 9? That would be heaven!
But I suspect you meant to backup the server before upgrading to Plesk 10, in which case the best would be simply to...
Prior to Plesk 10 it was possible for domain owners to see detailed mail statistics with disk space used per email account. It was a little cryptic, but it was there. In Plesk 10 all they can see is how much space email on the domain is taking up, not how much each email account is using...
Does httpd need to be restarted for changes in these local php.ini's to be activated or is it only for php-cgi?
After a recent upgrade from Plesk 10.1 to 10.3.1 I found CGI-PHP sites have had /var/www/vhost/domain.tld/etc/php.ini created automatically. No signs of any...
I just wasted another hour fixing Plesk issues after updates. We just updated a Plesk 10.1 server to 10.3.1 and after that TLS no longer was running. After much searching it was found that the Plesk updater has renamed /etc/xinetd/submission_psa to /etc/xinetd/submission.psa, and it seems that...
I had exactly same problem.
The problem was that the sftp server is defined as /usr/libexec/sftp-server in /etc/sshd/sshd_config, but the actual server is located in /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server.
Modified sshd_config, restarted sshd, problem solved.
In previous versions of Plesk there always was a tickbox that needed to be ticked to include the www. prefix, but I don't see that anywhere in Plesk 10. If I understand Igor correctly this is no longer an option?
1) so in the (granted, unlikely) situation that you'd want different content...
