I have a dedicated server with several domains but with the same problem on all domains. Server hostname is anim8design.uk with a single IP 62.138.4.97 which is shared with all the domains. rDNS resolves to anim8design.uk & DMARC, SFP & DKIM all pass when sending mail to Gmail, outlook etc yet...

Looks like I was right in that it was the rndc.key file, but restarting the service didn't work but a reboot did.

I was wrong. moved the rndc.key file to another location & restarted Bind, error now gone but still cannot start mail pop or imap.

Cant help thinking this is something to do with the problem: WARNING: key file (/etc/rndc.key) exists, but using default configuration file (/etc/rndc.conf) Got this after running "service named status"

Tried that & all went through ok, no errors or warning but still cannot start courier pop or imap services

Yes it's up & I have restarted the service & server. Get this warning in the maillog: warning: SASL authentication failure: cannot connect to saslauthd server: No such file or directory but from previous experience I know that all I need to do is change a file name that didn't update correctly...

Postfix smtp error. Since the update I cannot connect to the smtp server from either my mail client or webmail. This has happened before & is something to do with a file name (in postfix I think) not updating during the upgrade but I cannot remember which one.

Solved: During the update the file /etc/sasl2/smtpd.conf was renamed to /etc/sasl2/smtpd.conf.rpmsave

I had a similar problem when I updated to Plesk 12 from 11 in that I was unable to send email because it appeared that smtp was unable to find the authentication service. During my attempts to troubleshoot the problem I turned off the POP service to check something & forgot to turn it back on...
