Dear Pleskians! The Plesk Forum will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on Monday, 7th of July, at 9:00 AM UTC. The expected maintenance window is 2 hours.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding on the matter.
It appears there is an issue with the Cloudflare Proxy settings. I am able to send and receive emails, once I set the DNS to 'DNS Only', within the Cloudflare Dashboard.
Is this generally ok or should I still set the MX Record to 'Proxy', on the Cloudflare Dashboard, and look for another...
Thanks for your response.
I have removed the Domain and then re added it, just in case there was some error with the initial setup. I am still getting the following message:
"Domain example.com resolve problems detected:
The domain resolves to the incorrect IP address (xxx.xx.xxx.xxx). To put...
I have recently added a domain, whom Cloudflare are the Registrar, to my Plesk Obsidian Dashboard. Unfortunately, I am having problems with the DNS setup. At present, I am seeing the following 'Domain is not resolvable' message:
This tells me that the issue lies within the DNS. I initially...
My Rescue Mode automated email states ...
I have tried both the following:
Both return the following:
My provider states that they are unable to assist further than advising to access the 'sshd_config' file and to change the root access options.
Apologies if I am overlooking something simple...
At present, I am unable to access the Plesk Dashboard due to losing access to the Google Authentication Codes that are helping to protect the login page. Simply, the Google Authenticator App stopped working on my phone. Furthermore, I had disabled SSH Access for all Users (root included)...
Thanks for letting me know that '#' refers to being logged in as 'root', whilst '$' refers to other users.
I have had to place my VPS into 'Rescue Mode', where I have a set of temporary root log in credentials.
Here is what I see, when logged in:
I have tried the various commands to elevate...
I would like to run the following command via SSH:
# plesk bin extension --disable google-authenticator
I am using PuTTY, where the above command is outputting the following:
plesk: command not found
I am assuming this is because the command line has a '$' prefix, which I cannot...
Turns out there may had been an issue with Plesk's automation and/or default web files. As a trial and error exercise, I removed Plesk's default web files from the Subdomain and then copied over the original domain's web files via Websites & Domains > 'example.com' > Website Copying. These...
I have successfully added a domain, within the Plesk Dashboard, where there are no issues in gaining access within a browser. I am now wanting to add a subdomain. I have followed the relevant steps, as follows:
Go to domain.
Select 'Add subdomain'.
Enter Subdomain.
I also set the Document...
I recently needed to connect to my Plesk server, via SSH, using my Root credentials. My choice of software being PuTTy.
To achieve this, I had to perform the following commands, due to having previously disabled Root access via SSH:
login as: [Another user on the Plesk server]
password...
Awesome! Thanks for the reassurances.
I would like to add that I also have a 2 Step Authentication extension installed, offering another layer of security to help protect against attacks that have used tools such as the Keylogger you mentioned.
I will have to read up more on setting up...
Thank you for your response. Are you saying that changing a Port is just one step of a series of steps, or that changing a Port is like 'security through obfuscation' and thus has its limitations?
Thank you for highlighting the potential problems, as well as an alternative solution.
I have...
I have recently come to realise that it is considered good practice, from a security point of view, to change the default Port for SSH client connection from 22.
I have spoken with my VPS provider, who has confirmed that all 65,535 Ports are available for use. Would I then be right in thinking...
I have since just gone ahead and reinstalled the VPS, uploading backups where needed.
Turns out only SSH/SFTP access was Forbidden (as I had set up). The reason why I was unable to access the Web Files, via FTP, was because my failed efforts to log in elsewhere had triggered my IP Blacklisting...
Thank you for your suggestion. SSH is completely out of the question, since when I try logging in, I am met with an 'Access is denied' message. This is expected, as I had forbidden Root access and also all SSH access via the Plesk Dashboard.
I did try Filezilla to access files via both SFTP...
They said that there were no additional methods to access the VPS, their end, since I had disabled all Root/Admin Access. I'm guessing the easiest solution is to request a temporary upgrade, then downgrade once I have solved the issue.
Thanks for your response.
FTP/SFTP becomes inaccessible, when I also disable access to SSH.
The VPS provider is unable to access the data on the VPS, since I have changed all default passwords and all access points have been disabled. I guess my only 2 options are to either upgrade Disk...
I am struggling to access the Plesk interface, on a VPS, which hosts several WordPress websites. The reason is due to insufficient Disk Space, as per the below message that is produced when I try to log into Plesk:
I am simply looking to gain access to the data, on this VPS, so that I can...
