  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Input Enormous price increases yet again for 2025

I haven't had too many issues with Plesk support for highly technical matters. It can take a bit of time to get things in front of an appropriate developer, but they do ultimately come through. I use their support for almost nothing related to end user type concerns, or underlying OS concerns...

Input Enormous price increases yet again for 2025

My Plesk pricing for web host edition was going up about 65%, for a single year, it's ridiculous. I don't care that much about price increases in general, that's the way of life these days, but a massive increase makes me want to change platforms because it makes them too great a risk to my...

Resolved Plesk Migrator Database - unhashable type: 'list'

I'd like to point out that the migration tool has been an absolute nightmare the past few months. Plesk seems to be altering it with woefully inadequate software testing before release, which makes me worry about what else is being shipped without proper testing that could be more security...

Resolved I have this error since mornig, what oes it mean and how to solve?

I've got a server that was otherwise running fine that now cannot regenerate its config or restart apache due to this; still running currently though. I'm not clear on what that changelog is describing, or how it relates? It seems the new command's only purpose is to have apache bind to lo0...

Resolved Any way to migrate a site from 18 to 17?

Curious if anyone knows of a way to migrate a site from Plesk 18 to 17? I have a very unique use case where this is going to be required. I don't care much about passwords in case that matters, from a backup export with or without pass phrase perspective, but do need all the email and all the...

Question XML API <upload> to place files on websites?

Very interesting, thanks; I'd only noticed the other part of that article talking about using it to place site application packages and missed the example showing arbitrary files. I'll give it a shot.

Question XML API <upload> to place files on websites?

Hi all, curious if the Plesk API 'upload' function can be used to place files on given websites by way of full path or other flags? Trying to figure out if we can perform SSL renewals which require placement of a DV file using just the API, so placement in the server's /var/www/vhosts/htdocs/...

    Question Strategy for full-disk backups

Just keep in mind that the rsync method will not likely give you anywhere close to an easy restore option; i.e. if the server did fail, you'd be installing a new OS, installing Plesk, recreating the site, databases, and then bringing that data back in. If that's the only goal, to not lose data...

    Issue access_ssl_log.processed gb elevated

Ah, I appreciate it. The first one is not the case, our logs are set to rotate daily, gzip, retain 62 rotations. Using the second article, I found no errors in the Plesk log related to log rotation. However, I ran the commands manually for a specific domain and received an error about "has...

Forwarded to devs Rotation of files with multiple hard links is not allowed

Is it possible that the daily log rotation is calling the individual logrotate.d/ files rather than the global logrotate.conf to effect each site's log rotation? Reason I ask is because we've been running into this issue across several servers and if I try to run the rotation at the site level...

    Issue Log rotation problem

I believe this is normal if you have log rotation on. The .processed file is intended to only exist as an intermediate step while webstats, etc. are run against the data, then the prior rotation interval's entries move into the .1.gz, .2.gz, etc. after each interval (typically daily), and...

    Issue access_ssl_log.processed gb elevated

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm frequently running into servers not successfully rotating the access_ssl_log.processed file even though the daily logs appear with each intended rotation.

Question Is there an equivalent for psa-watchdog to restart services on Ubuntu?

Since Watchdog remains unavailable for Ubuntu 20LTS, is there a Plesk supported equivalent extension that accomplish the same service monitoring and automatic restarting? I don't know how this basic requirement is not built into the core Plesk software given a web server is not particularly...

    Resolved fail2ban configuration via CLI?

Thanks! I was concerned about using these on a Plesk managed fail2ban instance since we don't know if it keeps its own version of the config in the psa db or elsewhere to facilitate rebuilding it if needed, but the commands on that page lead me to a kb article that had the relevant Plesk...

Issue Control time of day Let's Encrypt performs renewals?

Currently Let's Encrypt seems to just fire off renewals whenever it feels like it if the number of days in advance is reached. Same here; just updated a system from 17 to 18 and chroot disappeared from the list, and sites that already had it show as Forbidden even though they have chroot.
