Allow certain users to connect without SMTP auth

We have a Kyocera-Mita 4030 Copier/Scanner/Fax in our office that will allow us to scan documents to email addresses.

The only problem I have is that there's no option on the scanner to set up a password for it to use when it sends the scans.

Is there a way to set the email address up so it can send emails to email addresses outside the server (it will send to local ok) without having to have it authorize?

Nevermind...Called KM Tech Support, and it's something they're going to have to physically send someone out to do, there's nothing I can do via the server or the copier myself.
