• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue allowed characters for email address

moswak

Regular Pleskian
Centos 7.9
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.33

a long time ago the customer set up an email distribution list based on forwarding.
He added a plus sign to the email address.
for example [email protected]

that has worked normally for the last few years. an interim transfer to another server with the plesk migrator also worked.
suddenly he can no longer edit his forwarding because plesk says that [email protected] is not a valid email address.

1. why was the + sign subsequently banned in the email address?
2. How can the customer now edit his forwarding "without" renaming the email address of his mailing list?

Hi, moswak
`+` character was banned in the scope of support of mail subaddressing (VERP-style) in 18.0.30 because it is usually used as a delimiter between local part of mailname and tag.

I don't know of any solution. the customer has to change his email address for his distribution.
