asp.net not installed...

I am hoping someone can help me. I have plesk 8.1.0 installed with all available updates. I went into the Add/Remove windows components and installed the asp.net windows component but when I go into the plesk > Server menu area it still says asp.net is not installed and the icon is grayed out. Can anyone tell me if I am missing something or how to fix this?

I eagerly await your help.

Yes.

When I tried to install it via Plesk It said the component was not installed. So I followed some forum advice on another thread and went to the add/remove programs then windows components. Installed the asp.net componenet. Then went to IIS and it still was unavailable in the tabs of the domain server properties. It was also still listed as not installed in plesk. There were server restarts between all steps. And a few Plesk reconfig's. Last night I went in and removed IIS and asp.net windows component as well as the webserver windows component and frontpage extensions. Then reinstalled them and reconfigured plesk again. Had to manually correct a few minor things as well as manually add the asp.net version 2.0 into the web server extensions allow list. I am now able to use frontpage, asp.net 1.0, 2.0 and frontpage extensions from within IIS. All of which I couldn't use before. But I still show in plesk on the server icon that asp.net is not installed. I would like to have plesk functioning properly so that I can train others to just use the plesk without having to dive into the IIS side and manually configure things.

I had the same problem recently, and solved it with Plesk reinstall. I did not re-install it before that, but just used this "Modify' option in the Add or Remove section.
