  • Inviting everyone to the UX test of a new security feature in the WP Toolkit
For WordPress site owners, threats posed by hackers are ever-present. Because of this, we are developing a new security feature for the WP Toolkit. If the topic of WordPress website security is relevant to you, we would be grateful if you could share your experience and help us test the usability of this feature. Issue Backup Anomaly

Silver Pleskian
Plesk Onyx now allows us to exclude certain files and directories from backing up.

I have spoken to Plesk today and they confirm that if you do a domain and full server backup you need to enter the exclude directory location twice. Once in the domain backup area and the other in the server backup area.

What's more if you entered the following in the server backup area it would exclude the location on all domains on the server /httpdocs/aaa/bbb

There is no way to exclude it just from domain x for example when doing a full server backup.

  1. Why is there a requirement to enter the same directory information into the server backup area? Why can't Plesk just assume if you have entered the exclusion on domain x, then when it does the full server backup it excludes the same directory on domain x?
  2. Entering a directory in the server backup area shouldn't exclude the directory on every domain on the server. What happens if we don't want to do that?
I think the new Onyx backup exclude feature is flawed.
