  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Backup errors since 10.0.28 U3

JoeP

New Pleskian
Hi All,

Since updating to 10.0.28 U3 I have been regularly getting the following errors:

"The following error occurred during the scheduled backup process:
pmm-ras failed (Error code = 1): Repository error: Failed to read backup backup_2007290401_2007300400.zip: Import error: Unable to find archive metadata. The archive is not valid Plesk backup or has been created in an unsupported Plesk version"

I am using offsite FTP storage for the backups.

I have tried moving the backups elsewhere to give Plesk an empty directory to work with, after which a backup or two will complete without error before returning to the same problem.
There are several TB of free space in the FTP storage and other servers are sending backups to the same FTP storage without issue.

I did come across a forum thread about similar issues when some of the backups were over a certain size.
Some of the backups I'm taking are upwards of 22GB in size.

I've double checked and the server and extensions are fully up to date.

Any ideas?

Do you have enabled Use Passive Mode option at Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Remote Storage Settings ?

Yes, Passive Mode is enabled on the remote FTP Storage.
Currently the FTP server is behind a NAT firewall so my understanding is that Passive Mode is required for this to work.

EDIT: I have disabled Passive Mode and enabled FTP inspection on the firewall in front of the remote storage.
A manually run incremental backup has gone through successfully so I guess I'll just need to give it a few days and see if that prevents the issue from occurring.
