• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

New Pleskian
Hello,

I'm a new user to Plesk and would like to ask a quick question about the backup feature offered.

Does this include a backup of all mail for each account?

I guess the broader question is, does the backup contain everything I need to then restore it in the case of a major server failure?

I see there is an option for 'configuration and content'. If I use this option, would I be able to restore ALL settings, config and content (including mail) IF I had to restore to a clean install of Plesk?

Thank you in advance.

That's correct, make sure you set a password for backups, so they can be easily restored on a different VPS/Server and you will be good.

Plesk -> Tools & Settings -> Backup Manager -> Settings -> Scroll to bottom of page.

Plesk's encryption key
Specified password

Regards
