Backup - what directories

Hi,

I have searched but can't find a list.

Can anyone advise me on what directories one ought to backup from a Plesk 7.5x server?

/home/*
/var/*
/lib/*

or is that an overkill?

Are there any more that I should backup.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks - but I am choosing to back up files and data independant of any Plesk script. Hence my enquiry on folders.

I think you should include the directories mentioned in Plesk > Server > Statistics.

/usr/local/psa
/var/lib/mysql
/home/httpd/vhosts
/var/qmail/mailnames
/var/named/run-root

Exactly what data and files are you looking to save?

For your sites it would be:

/home/httpd/vhosts

And for qmail, mysql, etc it would be:

/var

For Plesk stuff, it would be:

/usr/local/psa

Anything else?

The one benefit of using the Plesk script is that it backs up the entire server's configuration for you, including clients settings, permissions, etc.

Thats only because it backs up the Plesk Database ..

So if you include mysql/var which is were the database is on a FreeBSD box you'll be including all clients and settings etc..

If you are using Plesk scripts for backup good luck restoring .. that's all i have to say about the scripts..
