Best way to update to php5.4?

Hi all,

I have a dedicate server from Server4you and i have php5.3.3 and i host 4 other website on this server.
But i have buyed a script so need php5.4.

What is best way to do that for a beginner?
Must i remove 5.3 and so install 5.4 or can i run yum update php or something?
Is only update from 5.3 to 5.4 (Nothing more)

I have putty and full root access!
