• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Best way to Upgrade to 8.6

I am currently running Plesk 8.2, without too many issues. I would like to move up to 9.0 but I haven't heard to many good things about it. I have heard that 8.6 is very stable. I have also gone through a horrendous upgrade from 8.0 to 8.2, which make me very nervous when it come to upgrading Plesk. So I would like to pose this question to everyone out there who has upgraded in the past:

What is the best way to upgrade Plesk?

Opinions?

Hi qcomm,

Yeah thats true, Plesk 8.6 is a very stable release and most importantly its user friendly as compared to Plesk 9
Ofcourse 9 is a advanced version but its not user friendly, you will need to spend some time to search each and every option in 9. Backup is one of the most issue in Plesk 9.

Hello,

It is possible to upgrade the Parallels Plesk Panel (PP) version 8.2 through GUI or through Command Line Interface. Please, check the following article for the upgrade through GUI:

http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.2/Windows/Docs/plesk-8.2-win-installation-guide/32484.htm

And the following one for the upgrade through Command Line Interface:

http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.2/Windows/Docs/plesk-8.2-win-installation-guide/32485.htm

It is really hard to say which method is better. Please, check the articles provided and choose one.
