[bug] sitebuilder is not working properly with firefox

Modules (voting, area map, feedback, scripts, rss reader .. ) do not work with firefox 3.5 & 3.6.

That's mean more than 30% of internet users (..check your stats).

Chrome and safari are not supported by sitebuilder. In total only 45% - 50% can use in this moment all sitebuilder functions.

Hope somebody from parallels can look into this and fix the issue in respect for all that are paying $$$$ for the license.

Could you please provide some more details on that? As I understand these modules are installed on your Sitebuilder but you cannot use them. How exactly they do not work? Can you add them into page?
All modules are FireFox compartible and work fine with it. Officially supported browsers are
* Internet Explorer 5.5 and above
* Mozilla 1.4 and above
* Firefox 1.0 and above

Which version do you have installed exactly? The latest one is 4.5.8. Make sure that latest updates are installed.

Modules aren't working with Firefox 3.6.9 - 3.6.10 (lates vers. - 09/29/2010)

I have tested the latest Sitebuilder version 4.5.8 for Linux presented by Parallels as demo at http://sitebuilder4.demo.parallels.com/Wizard

DEMO PAGE -> http://www.parallels.com/products/plesk/sitebuilder/demo/

I don't know if this issue is a Sitebuilder bug or Firefox bug but what is 100% sure Sitebuilder modules are not working with the latest Firefox versions (3.6.9 - 3.6.10) and maybe in the future this problem will persist.

For your reference and also for developer team I uploaded some videos to youtube which describe better the issue.

Problem: After drag a module from lateral menu in Step 4 and release (drop) in edit page the window module is not appearing. Also a double click to the name module give the same problem - the window module is not appearing in page.

Solution: ????????????

I know from Sitebuilder webminar (marketing preview #3 - http://www.parallels.com/products/plesk/panel10preview/webinarsignup2/) that the standalone Sitebuilder will not be developed in future but at least give us some patches for fixing the problems. It's very simple if we loose our customers we can't afford to pay the lease license and in the end also your company will loose money.

CHROME

27,88% of our customers are using Chrome.

I performed some tests in Chrome browser and Sitebuilder is working very well. How can be avoided the error page when a user is using Chrome as browser?

Error page -> "Unfortunately, your browser is not supported by Plesk Sitebuilder. Please use Internet Explorer 5.5 or later, or Mozilla."

Hello,

maxioana, thank you for the detailed report. Please make sure that both fixes from the following KB articles are installed on the server: http://kb.odin.com/en/9081 and http://kb.odin.com/en/6591. This should resolve all the issues with modules.

As for the demo site version it was updated with latest hotfixes from KBs and should work correctly now.
Let me know if there are still issues with that.

Thank you Dmitry and developer team for the fix.

I have applied the patch and tested Sitebuilder with the following Firefox versions and no problems found.

Firefox 3.6.10 ok
Firefox 3.6.9 ok
Firefox 3.6.8 ok
Firefox 3.6.6 ok
Firefox 3.6.3 ok
Firefox 3.6 ok
Firefox 3.5.13 ok
Firefox 3.5.9 ok

Please correct in the article http://kb.odin.com/en/9081

tar -zxf sitebuilder45_drag_and_frop_modules_patch.tgz -C /usr/local/sitebuilder/

with

tar -zxf sitebuilder45_modules_drag_and_drop_patch.tgz -C /usr/local/sitebuilder/

Is there a patch for the Windows version of Sitebuilder 4.5? We are having the same issue in our Windows install of Sitebuilder.
