• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Can I update Horde to newest version?

Atramasis

Basic Pleskian
I use Plesk version 17.5.3 with Horde 5.2.13, there is a newer official stable version avalable (5.2.21). Can I just update horde following the official way (Horde PEAR server) or do I have to take care of Plesk specific things or is it a bad idea to do it at all?

The best solution is to wait for the official update from Plesk.

And the second best?
I did manage to install v. 5.2.21, I just had to force install (with -f), because PHP7 is not supported by horde, but it works. Just Weather Service has to be uninstalled (pear uninstall Services_Weather).
It seems to run fine, but my hope was that ActiveSync (or CardDAV/CalDav) would work in Outlook 2016 and Windows 10 Mail, but it does not. Maybe in Horde 6, but I think Horde is just not worth waiting, there are always problems syncing with other devices.
