  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Can someone explain the decision to drop MySQL for MariaDB?

Hello,

Could you explain, please, what do mean by 'drop MySQL'? We support both MariaDB and MySQL in Obsidian, and by default install server, provided by OS vendor

Is it possible to replace MariaDB 5.5, 10.X with MySQL 5.6, 5.7 on a Plesk server

Is this post for Plesk Onyx or Obsidian? I also don't see an option in the panel to choose MySQL over MariaDB, so was curious about the decision (as previous versions of Plesk that I have used all had MySQL as the default)

Hello,

This doesn't means that we are going to drop MySQL in favour of MariaDB, it means that replacement of database server is not simple operation, and something can goes wrong. The KB article has been updated, thanks for your report!
