Any idea about this ?? trying to migrate form 8.2.1 to 8.3 cento 4.5

mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.54, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 5.1

Ouch, in order to upgrade you now have to downgrade MySQL - and then re-upgrade MySQL. not terribly tough to do mind you, but still kind of lame....
