• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Can't create directory - disk quota

Clients in Plesk cant create directory or use ftp due to disk quota exceeded - but the quota is NOT exceeded. Plesk also show this in the Info (Used/Allowed). How can I fix this?

Erro message in Plesk when I try to create a new directory:

"Error: Unable to create directory /httpdocs/testmappe: filemng failed: mkdir: cannot create directory `/var/www/vhosts/erlendberge.com/httpdocs/testmappe': Disk quota exceeded
filemng: Error occured during /bin/mkdir command."

Anyone got a solution for this. Since this problem came, none of the domain admins can use FTP or filemanager in Plesk

Go to Server > Server Preferences. Check the items selected in the "Include in the disk space usage calculation".

These are all the things contributing to the quota calculation -- not just the files in the web directory. Common problems are large databases, log files, or mailboxes.

Hopefully you will find your culprit(s) in one of these areas.

I had a few clients who were over-limit when we migrated to Plesk 8.1 and discovered their log files were huge because error reporting was set abnormally high.

Hope that helps.

Plesk calculate diskusage as lower than the limit. But still clients get error trying to create a directory or upload files. None of the clients on the server can use FTP

Since installing Plesk 8.1.0 (before 8.0) I got many problems. And SWsoft wants to get paid for support. Should not be legal to sell a produkt that is just a BETA produkt. :(

I found a solution to my Disk quota problem in Plesk CP. I think this is a problem that others might get, so I hope that you can take a notice of this.

When restoring domains disk quota also change under "Setup" of the domain. If I change the limit of disk space under "Limits", the disk quota under "Setup" does NOT.
So under domain info I see that E.g. disk quota is 1000Mb, when is IN FACT is NOT. The right disc quota is set under "Setup" of the domain, and not under "Limits".

I dont know if this is ment to be, but I really thougt that limits of disk quota were to be set under "Limits" of the domain. Because this the "Info" shows this change. If I change disc quota under "Setup", it is a "Hidden" setting..since it is not to be seen under "Info".

Yes, this is the expected operation but I agree that the quota value would be better placed in the Limits section.

[DOMAIN] > Setup > Account Preferences > Hard Disk Quota is a hard-limit and prevents data from exceeding this capacity for the entire domain.

[DOMAIN] > Limits is a soft-limit for Disk Space and only triggers a warning when exceeded.

Thanks alot for the follow up Wingman!

That saved me from wanting to 'go postal' today.

I had all my limits set to Unlimited. And completely forgot about the Setup limit.

Thank you again so much!
