change permission so php can write to a dir

hi,
im having some issues with php not being able to upload files and copy them to a dir.
it would appear that the directories are not writable.
i have always used linux so just chmod'd the dirs via ftp.

but iv been forced to install a few windows servers to meet clients wishes.

if there is an easy way to do this within plesk...
or via rdp then please let me know

there is a file permission icon for every file in the file manager. that's what you want?
